Schedule Request - 2S/2D/6T
Here are the settings:
- 24 teams, 2 subleagues, 2 divisions of 6 teams in each - 154 games, 22 3-game series and 22 4-game series - 14 games vs each divisional opponent (4H/4A/3H/3A), 8 games vs opponents from the other division in the same league (4H/4A), 3 games vs each interleague opponent (I'd appreciate if you could make a second schedule with home field flipped) - I'm looking for two halves that mirror each other, with the exception of interleague play, the matchup for the 1st series should be the same as the matchup for the 23rd series and so on, only with home field flipped - What I'm looking for each half to have is: - 2 series vs each divisional opponent (1 home and 1 away, 1 4-game and 1 3-game, 35 total games split into 17-18 or 18-17 home/away) - 1 series vs each interdivisional opponent (3 home and 3 away total) - 1 series vs 6 interleague opponents (3 home and 3 away total) - Teams to play all other divisional opponents first before playing one of them a second time - Teams have the same off-days, preferably Monday through Thursday - Homestands or road trips lasting a maximum of 4 series, preferably 3 - Matchday to have all 12 games of a specific kind: intradivision, interdivision or interleague - Day games during weekends and travel days, night games otherwise - All-Star game after about 2/3 of the games have been played - Season to last 186 days, starting on the last Thursday of March with a 4-game series and ending on a Sunday - First and last two series of each half should be divisional Thank you in advance and happy holidays! I think I was able to get almost everything. Here are some of my working notes...
186 days, subtract 4 for All-Star Break => 182 days. Divide by 2 for two halves => 91 days, which is 13 weeks, nice and even. 77 games per 91 days, that is 14 offdays in 13 weeks, an offday every 6.5 days on average. But with equal number of 3-game & 4-game series, there is no reasonable way to isolate offdays to particular days of week. They can be staggered to occur more earlier in the week and less on weekends. Having All-Star Break to slot into second half means needing to set offdays differently than in the first half in order to maintain preference for their falling early week.
