New Card Release Today

I began looking at these cards & most every card rating is nearly exactly as many other cards I've seen. Pitching, Hitters is like they swapping names to make new cards, Then for me, which I only play White Sox cards. They put out a new Luke Appling 101 card that looks exactly like my 100 Aparico except Appling don't steal bases, so no thank you. Don't need 2 100 shortstops. Just gonna ride the season out with what I got. I'll probably just boost players instead of getting new (everybody, got one cards)

The shapes are similar but if you think Appling looks exactly like Aparicio you really need to stop looking at the bars and start reading the numbers.

23 points of contact, 34 points of gap, and a whopping 69 points of eye is a pretty serious jump in bat.

Aparicio's five extra points of range is great but 110 is still very good. Stealing bases just loses you runs in this game unless you have Rickey or Utley.

Go with Aches and Pains!

Ah, whatever you believe. I find 60-100 stolen bases a year more than worth while.
A career .305 hitter, 328 SB, closing in on 1,000 hits in just 5 seasons, I'm fine with Aparicio being my SS. I'm sure you playing with a whale team & I'm just playing W.Sox cards, so your expertise meaning zero to me, but thanks anyway for the non tip. I did look over everything & decided it wasn't worth 300,000 pp that it was at the time & still not being 240,000 at the time of this post

So why is Henderson's & Utley's SB more important than Aparicio's That a wanky, wonky observation unless of course you have both of them...right?

I have Utley because he’s essentially free… everyone has him. No Rickey here.

As you get to the higher levels (I’m not sure where you are) only the very elite base stealers have a favourable SB% (75% or higher, and most people want even higher). Utley has insane SB numbers because he has literally the top of scale SB Abiluty ratings and with a mid-level SB aggressiveness, which is really a LOT more optimal than guys with really high aggressiveness (and you NEVER want a guy in there with a higher aggressiveness than ability).

Aparicio is a decent but not great base stealers (at the better tiers of PT) and more importantly he won’t get on base enough to even the the chances to fail.

So basically with Aparicio you’re putting a guy out there that’s a just a handful of weak singles, no walks and a a few steals (with a good glove).

Any player that plays this game at a high level (whale or not) will tell you that Aparicio is one of the worst “perfects” released in the second half of the content cycle and far worse than Appling. That said compared to the best SS’s in the game neither of them really stack up. (I understand your self imposed handcuffs).

Also, not that it’s anyone’s business, but I’m FAR from a whale this year… I’m not sure I’d even qualify as a minnow

Why you wonder i'm handcuffed when I'm playing the way i want to play. Nothing in the rules of OOTP says I have to play just like everyone else. Use one of your other accounts, pick you favorite team & use just that teams cards. This is the 1st year I've done it & it's the most enjoyment I've had since PT has came out. See, I'm not just a 4/5 year fan of the big bad hottest team to win. I've been a real hardcore fan of the White Sox since I was 11/12 years old. I'm 65 now. Through more thin than thick I've never change my alliance to another team. May sound silly but it just might be me. In the 1st 5 years, Aparico has averaged 71 steals a year. Not too shabby & a career .305 BA . I just don't concern myself of keeping up with the Joneses.......Mister Jones.

Theme teams are a blast, I did one in OOTP23 and it was a TON of fun. If I may ask, with the chemistry system in place now, on a team that may have some other chemistry but definitely has all White Sox chemistry, what is the Chemistry number? Just curious what it can get up to on a team-specific theme approach in case I do one next year.

Earlier in the year, I loaded up my #2 team (otherwise known as the Test Beds) with Dodgers players, when live Perfects were still doable on league teams. Hit nearly 98% chemistry and had a good four weeks before the mission sets started making live Perfects like Mookie Betts unplayable. After that, not much success other than auto-completing the PT Elite Dodgers missions when they came out. The team has kicked around between bad Gold and good Silver since then, but it did allow me to examine the chemistry system. Currently playing .600 ball in Silver, but it's not full of Dodgers like it was.
