Complete MLB Historical Logo Sets by mikecos23

Decided to make one thread for the logo sets I create. This will be easier for me to maintain. There are now install instructions for the 2026 version attached, sorry it's in a zip, it wouldn't let me upload the PDF.

Released Sets:

MLB Historical – Outlined
Comprehensive historical primary logo set of all MLB teams since 1901 applying a heavy white outline that makes logos easier to see on darker backgrounds. 2026 set now includes all current MiBL teams and association logos as well !

MLB Historical – Cardboard
Comprehensive historical primary logo set of all MLB teams since 1901 applying a cardboard effect that is meant to evoke baseball card logo look of the past.

MLB Historical – Embroidered
Comprehensive historical primary logo set of all MLB teams since 1901 applying an embroidered look meant to evoke patches and embroidered logos of the past, especially used on jerseys and memorabilia of the past.

All Set Features/Notes/Why would I want to use these instead of the default logos?:
• A ton of historical MLB logos added not included with default installation.
• All logos in hi-resolution 300 px X 300 px, 72 dpi format.
• No “small” versions of logos, OOTPB will default the large logo as the small logo.
• League and All Star logos included.
• Current MLB logos are named to current default conventions. Historical photos will use a primary color and white as a text color for readability.
• These are in a folder called "logos" WITH all non-MLB default logos installed with OOTPB, so in essence you can delete your logos folder and use this one instead. This applies to 2025 versions only.
• UPDATED instructions for 2026 sets attached !

Latest Version Notes:

MLB Historical Outlined for OOTP2026 - V1.1

• [V1.1] Minor Fixes.
• [V1.1] Added logos for 10 Negro National League teams.
• Missing historical logos for Boston Bees, Chicago Cubs (1915) and New York Mets (81-92) added.
• Corrected a few naming conventions preventing loading for the Reds and Dodgers.
• Added logos for ALL CURRENT MiLB teams and league associations !
• Set now includes a comparable logo for every logo (team) that ships with default OOTP, so this set can now fully replace
your default logo set.

MLB Historical Cardboard for OOTP2026 - V1.0
• Same as above Outlined set

MLB Historical Embroidered for OOTP2026 - V1.0
• Every logo from previous 2025 set has been enhanced and brightened to view better in game (hopefully lol).
• Same as above Outlined set

MLB Historical Primary - Outlined (OOTPB) V1.61 (OOTP 2025)
• Brooklyn Superbas name corrected from "Superbras" 1899-1910
• Philadelphia Phillies name corrected from "philles" 1900-1910

MLB Historical Primary - Cardboard (OOTPB) V1.11 (OOTP 2025)
• Brooklyn Superbas name corrected from "Superbras" 1899-1910
• Philadelphia Phillies name corrected from "philles" 1900-1910

MLB Historical Primary - Embroidered (OOTPB) V1.11 (OOTP 2025)

KNOWN ISSUES:
• These are all named using OOTP naming conventions to allow auto loading each year, HOWEVER I haven't tested every single season in history. Please let me know if there are any loading issues, some logos may not be named correctly. Also OOTP is a bit finicky with loading logos and not using the default one's.
• Boston Bees logos are missing from OOTP 2025 sets.

Thanks, I always wanted to see a full set of embroidered logos, these came out pretty good for the most part !

Using a combination of different filters, effects and textures in Photoshop.
Was kind of painful - not sure I would do a full set of these again lol

FYI to everyone - working on an update for OOTP25 for the Outlined logo set that will now include all relevant logos that ship with the game, so current MiLB (some historic that still ship with the game), league logos and a few foreign league logos.

The embroidered ones are really, really, well done. I've been loading mods on Steam for OOTP26 today and will continue to into the evening. I'm happy to put those three sets on the Steam Workshop if you want so they get more visibility. They really all deserve to be seen by more eyes. Just let me know and I'll get them up by day's end.

I'm hoping to update all three sets for 2025 in the next few weeks, but I'm only about a quarter through the outlined set as I am adding the MILB teams this year.

Love the embroidered logos. Switched to them for both the large and small logos in my solo historical MLB league, which is now in 1985. They're a great fit for the league. Thank you!

Before I hit publish to the general Steam Workshop (hidden atm), if I put these .png files into the OOTP26 default /logo folder, will they auto-load given the .oi logos that ship with the game are in there? I tried creating a /logoEmbroidered folder and repointing where the game looks for logos from Game Settings>Database to that new folder but it wasn't auto-loading them either.

EDIT: Once I repointed to the /logoEmbroidered file from the Advanced Menu from the Wizard, select ones auto-loaded, but other it didn't find a match and loaded the default. In any case, if you repoint to the alt folder BEFORE creating the league the autoloading works. I'll try again mid-save and see if I can get it to work before giving up. I think it might be best to have 3 Workshop items installing three alt logo folders and giving instructions on repointing to them for new games. The aly folders would have the three types of redone logos saved atop the default /logos contents.

I see you just completely replaced the default to work around the repointing, but repointing would allow different games/sims to use different logos sets.

Getting late here and will tackle the instructions in the morning and then unhide the mods.

The linked packs have the logos I created in .png (all logos in MLB history back to 1900) with the naming convention to auto load, then I added back all the addition .oi files (MiLB, foreign, some lower league logos). The original .oi files for MLB are removed. So end users should just be able to backup or remove the original Logos folder and replace it with this one. But it will sometimes have to be done again on updates that go back and re-update/replace the Logos folder.

If you have a logo that didn't auto load, please let me know, the naming convention may be different than what OOTP expects - also some of these may have changed from for different versions.

I don't have the exact steps that I did but it was very similar to something like this page describes to get started. I took a lot of time to tweak each logo, so you can use this type of
direction as a base line to get started:

I was able to get the Embroidered and the White-Outlined ones up on Steam - but will do the Cardboard ones later this evening. I promised my daughter she could get on Steam to play RimWorld so I am yielding the computer.

Here are the facers I made for each of the mods and the instructions I gave the user because in a Steam Mod, you can't "swap" the /logo folder and as you noted there is always the risk of a patch overwriting things and restoring the conflicting .oi files. Once I spent some time working through it, it's pretty easy to toggle between multiple logo sets. Here are the Steam instructions, but once you get your set as a subfolder to /logos, it is never overwritten and easy to move in and out of within a game and easy to have different logo sets (using the same name for auto-loading) in different individual games.

"To toggle between and load alternative logo sets in-game 1) Go to Game Settings>Database, 2) On the righthand side of the screen, it will say “This game uses the logos folder [file location]”, hit the “Edit…” button 3) You will see the subfolder /Embroidered Logos, click it and then hit the “Select” button 5) Go to the Player & Teams tab while still in Game Settings, 6) On the righthand side of the screen, select Reset all … “Team Logos”. All the Embroidered Logos should load. They will continue to load as you advance through time. To return to the default logos, just return the Database tab and navigate back “Up” into the default folder and repeat the Reset Team Logos process. Flipping between logo sets is that easy."

Hopefully more people come by with it up on Steam as I put a link back here. Really, great work.
