Request for 6.5 - 28 teams (5/4/4) 162 games

Back one last time! One of our leagues is expanding to 28, and that's the only configuration we don't have (we'll never drop below 24 or go beyond 30 - barring real life expansion).

The leagues are split evenly at 14 a piece. The AL East division have the 4 team division and the NL West has the other 4 team division. I'm not sure if the layouts have remained the same, so for ease, the divisions starting with team #1 and team #25 have only 4 teams (4-5-5, 5-5-4). I'm not sure if this matters however because on rough glance we should be able to do a fully balanced 6 games against each schedule but I've been wrong before.

Again, if this exists, my apologies as I didn't find it except for the newer formats (we use 6.5 as stated). We're looking for a schedule that kind of mimics what we've used:

- Starts 4/1 and ends on an off day of 9/30 (it can start in March and go into October if needed, same as the 30 team result). Can also start a little later in April too.
- Balanced (ish):
6 games (any split of 3/3 or 4/2 is fine). 27*6=162. If there's a better balanced format, that would be fine as well (though I can't imagine).
- Off days are uniform - the 15th and last day of each month. We had pondered adding in the 8th and the 22nd as well - if that fits, fantastic. If not, no big deal. Again, willing to wiggle on this like last time. Given the nature of this beast, I think it'll probably end up an off day each week, but you are far smarter than I.

- All Star Break is in July 15, 16 (AS Game), 17

Thanks!

The "5/4/4" does not match with 28 teams. There should be two divisions per subleague with 5 teams.

That said, the perfectly balanced schedule with six games against the other 27 teams does add to 162 total games. And the six games per opponent can split into a 3-game series home and one away. The only problem there is that the offdays cannot fall on the specific dates. They can still be uniform for all teams, but they would be shifted. Like the All-Star break being a couple days earlier, mid-month offdays being like on 14th or 17th instead of 15th, and some other scattered offdays. Would that be okay?

If those offdays falling on those dates in more important, I assume there can be 2-game and 4-game series made instead of all 3-game to make them fit around those offday dates.

Hey gmo, you're right, brainfart on my end. It's supposed to be 5-5-4 (or more specifically, 4-5-5 and 5-5-4) but you probably deduced that, but as you also noted, it's functionally irrelevant.

Let's move the offdays around. A perfectly balanced schedule is more important here since it's rare to get exactly the same amount of games against all teams, let alone also balanced between home and away.
