Does the Dev Lab reduce learning position in ST?

I have the Dev Lab on and as is my usual practice played players out of position in ST. Results were worse than usual. Does the Dev Lab reduce the ability of players to learn new positions in ST? If yes, will turning the Dev Lab off restore previous functionality?

THIS must be a great idea. My consistent detractors didn't show up en masse to argue against it. They didn't show up HERE either.

Most of the ability to train players to play other positions during spring training is lost in OOTP 25. It doesn't matter whether the dev lab is on or off. If I'm incorrect, perhaps Twins will let us all know what settings are needed to obtain the prior functionality.

The is a particular problem because in Dev Lab we can't ask, as an example, that a CF be trained to play LF while in ST we can do that.

First screen shot is Reggie Smith before spring training in OOTP 25. Second is him after four weeks of playing LF in spring training. Development lab is off.

Third screen shot is Reggie Smith in OOTP 23 before ST. Fourth is him after four weeks playing LF in ST.

It depends on which historical mode you are using. The more restrictive (recalc on, or using historical lineups/transactions), we have reduced learning other positions.

If you're not using historical transactions, and just using development, then players will still learn other positions like before.

I play recalc and dev both on. Does reducing the effect of development mean with retire according to history off that player ability will crash after their real life stats run out?
