Estimated salary demands are way off actual ask

Poitras, Lambos, Svechkov and Wood are all asking for ~4m. I've uploaded the save as "FHM-11-est-salary" (already made offers to Lambos and Wood, so look at Poitras/Svechkov)

The Estimated Demand is just the baseline amount a player will ask for with every other thing that could affect it being neutral. Once the actual bargaining occurs, all the other factors come into play and it'll usually change from the estimate.

I've had another player where est. salary is 1.35m but the actual ask was 8.63m. If what you're saying is true, am I understanding right that he really is only worth 1.35m based on attributes but his performance inflated him to 8.63m?

That's an unusual gap. Do you still have that save? I'd like to have a look at the player.

I have the save file from a season later in June. Uploaded as "FHM-11-est-salary-2.zip".

It's Lukas Dostal on my team, who I ended up signing to a 6 year 7.8m per deal. He definitely outproduced his attributes, particularly in playoffs, so that could explain it.

The save is in June so maybe if you edit the contract down to 1 year you can repro his estimated demand again.

Nope, $8.1 million estimated when I do that. But I did find another player with an unusually large gap between estimate and request (but not that large), so that at least gives us someplace to begin investigating.
