Perfect Team 26 Teases!

Hey guys, I know there's been some questions about what's coming to Perfect Team for this coming game, and since there's not a PT forum open yet, I figured I might as well share a few teases about what's to come, courtesy of our PT Product Manager Nico in a Discord chat earlier today (because I'm excited about what's coming and want to tease what's to come )!

A lot of these are ideas that have come directly from community feedback, which we greatly appreciate!

Without further ado, here's a little sneak peek at what's coming to Perfect Team in OOTP26:
  • Tournament-wise, PT26 will have two PT World Championship tournaments that will be multi-day events like they were in PT25.
  • There will be tournament standings points for league play, but will do directly to PTWC and not factor into PT Master's Series tourneys.
  • Prizes for finishing well in league play!
  • There will be a new marketplace that will use a new currency, Clubhouse Stars, that will initially be earned via tourneys, PDs and league play! You can purchase exclusive cards through this, as well as bundles of packs! "Tournament batches" are no more.
  • There will be a dedicated Quick Tourney slot for Perfect Drafts!
  • Quick tournaments will have a standard group of formats for each tier: There will be Open, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Low Diamond and Diamond quick tourneys. All of those, except Open, will be 16 teams, Best of 5, with a Variant Cap of 10. Open tournaments will not have a Variant cap.
  • So-called "Combistry" is OUT.
  • Variants will be our new, revamped boosted-card mechanic, with a more user-friendly way to boost them up than last year, where you can "feed as you go."
  • Variants will have an Auction House in PT26, similar to auctions that were around in PT22 and prior! The card shop for regular base cards will remain.
  • Variants can be auctioned off individually and at the level they are at, so you can sell a Level 2 variant, and the winning bidder will receive the Level 2 version of the variant card. Variant auctions will not have a Buy it Now option, and Variant cards must be in the auction house for 48 hours.
Sound pretty good? We will have more information on all this, and even more in streams next week, plus a Road to Release interview with Nicolino! Stay tuned for more info!

Yes, there will be a Live Open Quick tournament. If there's a need for more at other tiers, we will consider that.

There will absolutely be a need.

Whales will buy up all the live perfects day 1 and dominate these tournaments.

You might consider

Running 162 game tournaments for the live tiers. With a 162 game in 182 day schedule, they would take a bit over 30 hours to finish.the regular season and probably 6 more for the playoffs.

Bunktown would be so happy.

I am not 100% sure what the Auction house changes are, but I don't miss the AH at all. So, I have mix feelings about this update.

it is the same as the old AH: it is only for variants, and it is to fix one of the largest problems of combis, which were people not knowing how to value them and also to give every one a chance to get them without having to camp the card shop with dozens of buy orders or just getting lucky to see something at the right time.

Super Promotions, good idea, will there be a super demotion for teams stuck at higher levels and are bored?

Can we reduce the AH to 24 hours from 48 hours? 48 hours is like an eternity for online baseball auctions.

Absolutely. We'll need Live Iron and Bronze at least unless the tournaments are capped.

How about running the Open Lives with rules similar to PT Live, with limits for Perfect, Diamond, and Gold cards? Maybe throw in a Silver limit as well.

This could actually generate them more revenue.

I would drop $50-$100 extra to pick up 3-4 live perfects if that was the cap. I am not dropping $500 day 1 to buy every live perfect and if you don't you may as well not even bother. You would just be not as terrible as everyone else.

We aren't able to create a tournament that only allows certain levels of cards at each level. We can create a cap tournament, though.
