2024- Reno Bashers
I'm skipping OOTP26, so I figured I would start another OOTP25 long-term playthrough with an expansion team. The Reno Bashers are going to be joining the AL West, and the Jacksonville Herons will be joining the NL East. Each existing MLB team will be allowed to protect 40 players for the expansion draft, and the new teams will not be drafting 1st and 2nd, just to make things a little harder in the building of the dynasty.

Pre-Expansion Draft Free Agent Offers
Before the Expansion Draft gets underway, I wanted to make some offers to some free agents to make our team less awful. I have done this type of expansion draft before, so I know how little talent is available. I want to bring in a bunch of starting pitchers to sure up our rotation, and a bunch of position players as well. I can fix up a bullpen through the expansion draft and mid-season acquisitions, but the rest of the team isn't going to be good enough from just the Expansion Draft. The key players who were offered contracts were Brandon Belt, Trey Mancini, Elvis Andrus, Austin Meadows, and Jorge Alfaro.

Opening Day Roster
https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1741709164
Here is the pitching staff for opening day. Roansy takes the ball for opening day, followed by Weathers, Crismatt, McKay, and Avila. Our big bullpen arms are Pierce Johnson, Kody Funderburk, and Peter Strzelecki. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1741709164 And our lineups. Neither Belt, nor Meadows signed for us. They both went to other MLB teams. Honestly, I'm expecting us to be the worst offensive team in baseball by a large stretch. |
