*** CBL presents 2025 MLB season for OOTP26!!! ***

WELCOME TO OOTP26!!!

*** Re-calibrated file uploaded 3-12-25 ***

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-8A...usp=share_link

Link below is my imported file from OOTP25, with some minor calibrations.
In general, the import was quite successful. Some players impacted slightly. Future draftees rated too high IMO with the conversion so I’ve calibrated those down.

For anyone new, welcome and thank you for the support!!
Below is a recap on the on-going saga….

I appreciate many of you following along the past four months getting us to this point. For those that are new….welcome!! For those that have been on the journey together thank you for all of the support and love. I share my passion for baseball and rosters with my OOTP brethren. Over the past 2-3 years my roster sets have generated over 120,000+ views from the OOTP community which fills me with joy!

This update contains:

- Transactions as of 3/10/25

- Ive switched the Athletics to be Sacramento A’s playing in Sutter Health park. Also make sure I switched city from Las Vegas to Sacramento.

- Tampa Bay Rays home field of George M Steinbrenner field

- Since they are playing in small capacity stadiums, for both the A’s and Rays, I’d suggest giving them $15-20M cash every season to offset the loss in attendance. Rays plan to move back to Tropicana for 2026 at least (and possibly through 2028, 2029). A’s plan to be in Sacramento I believe the next three seasons.

- MLB trade rumors posted players out of options so I’ve updated those

- Ratings/potentials based on 2024 season and/or 2025 projections

- R/L Splits for most of MLB batters

- Updates to NRI and minor league players (as best as possible from FanGraphs)

- Updated rating/potentials for Top 30 prospects all 30 organizations per Baseball America scouting reports

- Placed Top 100 IAFA on correct teams. Scouting reports based on Baseball America and MLB Pipeline

- Accurate Rule 5 selections and tagged with former team if player moved off existing team active roster

- Updates around ~1500 players options and MLB service time. This is HUGE. Many players are off. I used an export from Fangraphs depth charts to update.

- Accurate 2025 MLB schedule (*** the opening series is rolled in to regular season games with Dodgers & Cubs)

- Updates MLB 2025 draft order (*** this should be mostly accurate…may need to adjust with signings past few weeks)

- Calibrations for players at AAA and AA levels

- Updates to the player popularity, classes, leadership ratings

- Updates to some injury proneness and different areas.

- Speed ratings based on Baseball Savant Sprint speeds for at least MLB players who qualified

- Updates to injuries as of 3/10 based on current available information

- Updates to Top 50 MLB draft prospects

- Updates to market sizes

- Updates to budgets

If not specifically called out above, I lean heavily on in this order:

- Baseball America
- Baseball Savant
- FanGraphs
- MLB Pipeline
- MLB Trade Rumors
- Various Baseball podcasts/team-specific sites

Here’s to a great 2025 season!!

I have been using your spring releases for OOTP 25 because the baseball bug came earlier than the OOTP release this year. You do an awesome job. I really appreciate all the work and your ratings are really good. You have some prospects and players on my Brewers rated much more closely to the guys I’ve been watching than anybody else does. I can only assume that goes for the whole league.

Thank you for the compliment and support!!
I research all the teams a TON and hopefully that vision comes through with roster work!

Brew Crew have some very good prospects for sure!
Jesus Made I have as a 65 - he could be a BEAST!

If Jacob Misiorowski can harness the stuff, he has as high upside as anyone! In the set he’s a 60, but even a half tick improvement in control could rocket him up prospects list.

I also like Quero as a 70 grade defense catcher. Also like Pratt and even Black. He’s possibly stretched as a 3B, and more so a 1B. Looks like OOTP agrees too! Has him as a 50 FV 3B, but a 55 1B.

Also…for specifically batter splits check out Rhys Hoskins. He’s destroys LHP. 141 wRC+ vs LHP

Yeah I think if Black could play 3rd at all they’d let him this year, but he has not impressed in the field. Especially anytime he’s been required to throw the ball to another human. Hoping for a big year from Rhys though.

Sorry for the dumb question, but do I just extract this folder to my OOTP documents folder or does it go within a folder there? Thanks.

As always, thank you for the work and the research!

Do you still need to go in and change the AI control like in previous versions?

Yep!
Default all cpu teams set to not allow changes, so just adjust that in settings!

Also…check trade settings. I believe I have at low or almost never initially, so adjust that as you wish.

First of all, thank you for creating and sharing these files!!! Great job!

One of the changes in 2026 is the updated internal ratings scale (now ~600 max instead of 550). Your ratings are based on 2025 with the max of 550. I don't imagine that this change to 600 will have much, if any, impact on the accuracy of your ratings, or?

Anyway, thank you for all your work, man! I wish you were part of the official OOTP team so that we could have even more accurate ratings and contract details across all MLB organizations immediately upon release of a new OOTP version. As it is now, it takes Lukas and colleagues a month or two post-release to fine-tune and clean up things here and there.

Hey thanks for the setup! Started using your offseason rosters in OOTP25 and would love to continue for 26. One thing I have a small concern with is that I think some of the projection systems, particularly Fangraphs, push all projections too much towards the median, so that bad players are not AS bad as they would be otherwise and good players not as good. I think one thign you could consider in the future is using OOPSY, which better values people who are relatively outliers (ex. Judge, Ohtani, etc.) relative to peers.

This is a good callout - I suspect the “extremes” like Judge’s power, Soto eye, and Shohei power are a bit understated with the import. Not significantly, but probably can ramp up I’d assume. I’ll review and give perspective on potential adjustments.

On this same note I did catch most of the extremes on the pitching side, especially for BB/9 like George Kirby, Zach Elfin, Miles Mikolas.

Hey gang…
I’m reviewing a lot of things like BABIP which appears too high overall.

I’m going though adjusting and will test running season to see how stats look. Once I feel it’s in a good spot I will re-release.

Would you suggest holding off starting anything until the new file or will the adjustments be able to be made within the current one?

I’d hold off for just a bit

I’ll take file down on initial post

Ok gang we are back up!

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-8A...usp=share_link

This link, or link on the first post will get you the same updated re-calibrated file.

I tested out quite a few sims and leave overall stats were typically in line with real MLB 2024 by around +/- 3-5%. Loved the range of outcomes...!!
Judge and Ohtani, if they stayed healthy, typically hitting 45-55 bombs.

Another constant in all the sims.... the WHITE SOX are going to be absolutely dreadful again for 2025. I mean we already should suspect this but.... YIKES. I like their prospects, but 2025 is going to be another disaster.

AL East is typically a 5 team battle royale. AL Central is usually a 3-4 team race. AL West Sacramento has surprised and earned wild card in some sims, otherwise its Astros/Rangers/Mariners. NL East is usually a 3 team race, however in one sim the Marlins (???) came out of no where to win the NL East!! C Augustin Ramirez received some massive in-season that one sim & increased up to a 70 catcher..! He's a 50-55 FV in roster set. Thats why they play the games!!! Never know.
NL Central has typically been anyone other than Cardinals. Brew Crew/Reds/Cubs all winning Central in different sims. Pirates have earned wild card in some sims based on young arms in rotation, with more coming soon.
NL West is Dodgers-DBacks-Padres.

That's why we play out the games and our universe becomes ALIVE. We all have the same starting point but an infinite amount of diverse outcomes!!

OK TIME TO GET THE SEASON ROLLING!

Nitpicky question but is there any way to start from today's date of March 12 rather than Feb 19? I keep trying to bring it forward to March 12 myself and it doesn't let me without doing a whole bunch of changes automatically - even when I tried turning off injuries and making myself control all 30 teams

I’ve kept it right at Spring Training beginning for those wanting to play out all 4-5 weeks of it.

To get it to current date I’d suggest:

- select your team
- Turn injuries off
- turn trading to off
- sim ahead to desired date, then just remember to enable injuries again, and trading back on.

Always get confused on this... what should the set all computer teams to allow AI roster changes say? Is it all teams or computer teams? Thank you!

Mr. November didn't get an answer, so on behalf of those of us who have not used this material before, how do we use it?
