AI has taken over signing Free Agents

My manager profile is set to having control over signing free agents. Yet, the AI has completely taken over this function. It is making unauthorized offers to free agents and then signing them. Obviously, this usurpation of my manager's prerogatives is not acceptable.

Did you check the Do Not Disturb button? If you do, the AI will take control of your team. The other case this happens is if you did not actually sign as GM of a team, and are only using the act-as functionality.

It may be tied to the issue I was (and I still have) having. (I don't know OP's settings)

I just noticed if I as GM have control of BOTH "active roster moves" AND "transaction" I don't have this problem. If I give control to ASST GM of "active roster moves" but I as GM have control of "transactions", the AI immediately goes crazy and ignores my control and starts signing FA and I end up getting pop ups saying can't play game because of invalid roster size.

No. I am in complete control as both GM and Manager. The Do Not Disturb button is not checked.

I'm seeing the same thing. I do not have Do Not Disturb on, and I have the same settings I have used in countless previous versions of the game. In this one, however, the computer is signing free agents every year....some during the season, some during the off-season. I am the GM and have control over signings, but the computer is ignoring this and doing it's own thing. Definitely a bug. It's sure bugging me!

In case it matters, the only other thing I can think of is that you might be "Acting As" the GM and not in the single and only job of that Team's GM. Just thought it worth checking.

Thanks for replying so fast. No, I am the actual General Manager, not acting as such. And as I said, my settings are the same as they have always been when I've played previous versions of the game. Have never had this problem in previous seasons.

I think there's an issue we are looking at/fixing where one of the ai control minor league settings is allowing this.

I do not 100% remember which one, but it might be promotions/demotions. Either that or lineups.

Was hopeful that yesterday's patch would fix it, but I still find AI signing free agents to my team in spite of having my settings supposedly preventing it from happening. Was this not addressed in the patch?

I might be taking it back (for me anyway). I installed build 42 and have advanced 30 days. Have not gotten popup about invalid roster size and it appears asst gm HAS NOT made reserve roster signings or releases with me in control. Will test it more.

Spoke 3 games to soon, Got error again. If I'm in charge of Active roster moves, no problems. With Asst GM in charge of active roster moves, frequently get invalid reserve roster.

This is a local file path on your computer, not something anyone else can see online.

The issue I had “seems” to be fixed in build 45. Have played an entire season without the invalid reserve pop up message. Before was getting it about every 3 or 4 games.
