In-Game Testing For Crashes - Please Help!

Hi all,

We've had a few reports of seemingly random crashes while playing out games in 3d. These are extremely difficult for us to reproduce and thus to fix.

So we wanted to ask if you could help us out here, please try to play as many games in 3d as possible with debug turned on. You can find how to do that here.

Then if you get a crash while playing out a game, please upload the log file here along with as much info as you can remember on what happened just before the crash, what the last play was, if it was a change of innings, change of pitchers etc.

It's possible this is related to pitching changes or something more in the mid-late innings, so probably would be best to focus there.

But that's just an educated guess based on the info we have so far, not a certainty.

Also, if you had an in-game crash, do you remember what ballpark it was in?

I had a Crash in change of 6th inning if remember correctly in LAA.Sorry didnt know about debug.

Same, 9 attempts in 3D and game is crashing when changing pitcher. Happened in the 6th, 8th and 9th innings. Was both in Toronto and Baltimore.

I am old and not PC literate. I have trace on, but have no idea how to upload log file. I have had my league crash five straight times. Standard Game, Preseason Start. First Time I has Changing a Minor League team name. The last for trying to add the Olympics in 2028 as a new Tournament.

The first step here is try to force the re-installation of the game data to eliminate any possible issues with missing or corrupt data.

To do that go to the start screen, then to 'settings' > 'troubleshooting' > and then hit the button that says 'force game data re-installation'.

Then see if you crash in the same places again (maybe not the Olympics, it's possible this is a different issue, but new standard game etc).

If you still do crash, then to upload the log, first go to 'settings' > 'troubleshooting' > 'open folder containing debug data'. You'll see several logs there. Pick the one for the time around when you crashed. Then post here and use the attach (looks like a paper clip) feature in the post to select and upload that log.

yes crashed adding olympics agian. To be fair, Standard Game Early Start, adding two expansion teams and changing to two 16 team four divison World.

Someone else reported this on the Olympics too. It's possible there may be a bug here. We'll check this out. Thanks for the trace file!

Starting a New Standard Career, Opening Day start during set up phase. Cannot upload here says file exceeds 5.12kB forum limit??

Hi, I had a new random(?) crash again yesterday. Again with LAA, but in another stadium. Beggining of 3rd inning.

Did you find a solution to this crashes in 3d games? I understood from another message you may have it for the next patch. Otherwise I will activate debug next time I play. Having fun, but somehow tense to start again games due to crashes. Thanks a lot

Lots and lots and lots of crashing. Mostly in Drive For The Pennant, so obviously late-inning. Lots of games in Oakland-Alameda/Network Associates, but it's not just home games.

Unfortunately this is a pretty rare bug (in that it doesn't happen on most systems) and we have not been able to track it down yet. We're working on it though.

Can you try updating your video card drivers?

We're currently thinking this may have something to do with facegen generation and if so, that may help.

The second thing to try would be to turn facegen off entirely in your league and then play some games and see if the crashing stops. Please let us know either way.

My drivers are updated, but I am also doubtful with facegen as I am using photopack from Steam + active facegen in game setting (attached image). So I will turn off facegen but leave photopack active (used it in 25 and orked fine). Already played 1 game and changes looked smoother. Will let you know more in short. Thanks!!

Crashed during the second game I played, 2025 standard, when bringing in a pinch hitter in the 9th inning.

Turned FaceGen off and verified that my drivers are up to date, and we're still crashing. It just wiped off three losses, though, so I can't complain too much.

Double posting with a totally separate update, this seems to be happening only in Drive For The Pennant saves. Which is my new favorite mode, so that's a pity.
