NeL MLEs
Guys I am doing a full play-through for testing purposes and will report a bit more in depth when it is done.
However I feel it necessary beforehand to suggest you look at the injury proneness for these guys. Not their initial injury ratings but their tendency to become injury prone. With default settings in place, I am seeing an inordinate amount of mid-career injuries for these guys, way out of keeping with what one would expect. It is leaving a bunch of them with only a fraction of the game time they should be seeing. Thanks G

I have had no fewer than eight NeL players the game has tried to retire early due to injury. And I'm only up to 1930.

Also, did their injury ratings load in unusually high or did they just get high over time?

Mate it feels like they are slightly elevated across the board but that might just be some good old confirmation bias because it is so prevalent with the NeL guys. They seem to be coming in OK but then for whatever reason quickly "acquire" injury proneness to the point where most have 160 injury ratings across the four cats in the editor. Have attached the current rating for all the NeLers as at 1930 in this test. It corroborates what I'm saying. G

Just had age 24 Leroy Matlock and age-33 Andy Cooper both go down with a career-ender in the same season...
Definitely something hinky going on. I'm going to end it here. Let me know what you're seeing and if it gets fixed I'll run another one. Thanks G

Once the game is created, there's no difference in injuries and setup.
The Negro Leagues did tend to play less games, or at least a more variable amount of games, so it wouldn't surprise me if we translated that to higher initial injury ratings, which might manifest in more injuries later. We can take a look at that as something to improve on later, and make sure we're pulling in the right data to look at when assessing those values. |

Well, as you can see from that screenshot, something is awry.
FWIW I am using L&G's InteGREATed Mod in both 25 and 26 with more aggressive injury settings in place and this issue has not (touch wood) been a factor. So maybe grab the injury ratings from that and adapt? Your call but, if what I am seeing here is universal to all users then it renders the MLE guys problematic at best, unusable at worst. G

The mod we made does not have injury rating because that is not an editable field in any of the files.
The MLE stats are converted to 154-game seasons for the mod. If ootp26 is looking at incomplete NeL stats then everyone is going to look like they barely played. If it is looking at NeL fielding stats then it is even worse because those are even more incomplete than batting and pitching. I do not think basing an injury rating on games played is really a good way to handle injury ratings for any player. Unfortunately, we do not have actual injury data and time injured and time on an active roster for players. Bench players are not going to get into as many games as starting players but that is not because they were injured historically. You also have situations where teams marooned players so that will then look like both players are injury prone too. |
