Tips for Setting Up a New League in MLB and Minors

Hello, I’ve been playing Out of the Park Baseball since the very beginning, and I know how overwhelming it can be to get started—especially for new players. This guide is here to help you set up your game to be as realistic as possible to the modern MLB system. By following these steps, you can ensure that everything is customized and optimized to your preferences.

This process takes about 20 minutes, and I hope it makes your experience smoother!

Major League Baseball (MLB)
1. Disable Automatic Evolution of the League
2. Rename Awards Properly:
- Reliever of the Year Award
- Silver Slugger Award
- Gold Glove Award
- Manager of the Year Award
3. All-Star Game (ASG) Settings:
- Ensure the ASG is automatically scheduled. (checkbox)
- Set the Prospects Game format to USA vs. World.
4. Customize Playoff Naming Conventions:
- Rename Wildcard Series to Wild Card.
- Rename League Championship Series to just Championship Series.
- Shorten LCS to CS.
5. Personal Settings:
- Adjust Stars to 20-80, or set to your preferred scale etc.

Minor Leagues (MiLB)
1. Disable Awards for All Minor Leagues.
2. Enable ASG Where Possible.
3. Adjust Playoff Lengths:
- Some leagues require enabling Wild Cards to achieve a two-round playoff format. The Northwest League (NWL) is limited to a one-round, five-game series.
- Specific playoff formats by level:
- AAA: 5-game series / 5-game series
- AA: 5-game series / 5-game series
- A+: 3-game series / 5-game series
- A: 3-game series / 5-game series
- Rookie (R): 3-game series / 3-game series
- DSL: 1-game playoff / 3-game series / 3-game series
4. Rename Leagues as Needed:
- Rename Dominican Rookie League to Dominican Summer League.
5. Load Appropriate DSL Logos.

Arizona Fall League (AFL) / MLB Development League (MLBDL)
1. Rename Most Valuable Player Award (ensure pitchers are eligible to win is checked).
2. Uncheck the Custom Award Name option.

By following these steps, you’ll have a league setup that reflects the modern MLB system and provides a more immersive experience. My only other comment is the Rookie leagues do need some love.
