Dynamically Evolving League - Pros and Cons
Who uses this feature? I've never tried it but I've been thinking about it. Can anybody tell me what the pros and cons are? Thanks.

To be honest, all I can think of are cons. It can change roster sizes, arbitration times, expand the league, change rules, adjust league stats/modifiers, things like that. I'd rather just control all of that myself.
I mostly don't like it since I don't like how it expands leagues and handles relocation. |

Pros for me are it makes it your league feel more alive. Just as the name implies the league evolves. It might relocate teams, it might decide to add expansion teams, it might change the roster limit size.
Cons: You might not like the changes lol

I allow expansion, relocation, and shifting balance of offense vs pitching, but disable changes in roster rules, and set inflation to 0.

One thing that would be nice is if they could eventually let us lock team specific evolution.
For example so I could allow relocation and name changes but I could lock it so the Toronto Blue Jays don't get affected |

I hate when it changes arby/FA times back from 3/6 to 4/7 (even if it benefits me as the player).
I loved when it could affect schedule, one of my favorite leagues ever (I've since lost) expanded from 162 to 168 games. That was a fun league.

It's all about the amount of control you are willing to relinquish. I love it because I see my fictional league as a story to unfold, not a puppet I need to control. Leave it be and see where it goes.
One thing to consider is I am not someone that likes to spend 7 months designing pants for all my teams. I could see someone going into the fine details of every team not liking this feature. |

This year is the first year I decided to allow full dynamic evolution. I doubt I’ll keep this save as my primary once all the bugs are fixed, but I was curious what might happen. Before the 2026 season, the Athletics became the Wild Pigs or something while still playing in Sacramento.
In the past, I’ve turned relocation off as it seemed too illogical with teams sometimes going to smaller markets. I do sometimes allow the rest of the evolution.it all depends on if you are good with it. You can always untick the boxes you don’t want to evolve. |

I would not say it's dynamically evolving, because that would imply the league is reacting to something with intent or logic. These changes aren’t responsive, they’re just random. There’s no system evaluating balance or trends and adjusting accordingly. It’s just arbitrary toggles flipping in the background with zero context. So there are no actual pros, only unpredictability that breaks immersion and creates inconsistencies the game can’t explain or justify.
It is by far my least favorite feature, outside of PT, and it blows my mind that it remains on by default for MLB standard games.
