Custom player images not showing during in-game action

I’ve been manually uploading real card images and custom player cards to each guy on my team. Everything works fine in the menus, lineup screens, and even the pre-pitch screen during games, the images show up just like I was expecting.

But once the actual gameplay starts (when the ball is in play and the action view loads), the images disappear and I just see the blank field with player names. No cards, no images, just names floating above positions. I was really hoping to have those custom cards show under the player names in that live action view, is that possible?

I’ve seen some older posts mention the person_pictures folder, and I did confirm that every time I manually upload an image, it creates a file in there with the correct naming (ex - uploading an image for Julio Lugo creates player_2069 in person_pictures). That part seems to be working fine, I have now 25 files in that folder, one for each player, and everything is matched up.

Just not sure if there’s a setting I’m missing, or if the in-game view doesn’t support this feature in the way I'm thinking. I can share screenshots to clarify what I mean, just not sure how to post them yet.

Any help would be awesome thanks in advance!

Do you mean when the ball is in the air and the players are fielding and running around the bases? I think any image (facegen, photo, etc.) is auto-disabled when that happens. But I want to clarify if that's what you meant. That the card image is essentially fading back to the wall to make a catch as opposed to the little guy.

I also assume this is 3D mode and not 2D mode, correct?

Thanks! You understood what I was going for, makes sense thought that was likely the case.
