Service Time question
Good day, everyone.
A question about service time. I'm running a fictional 96-game league. Minimum days for 1 year of service time currently set at 112. And I've got exactly 1 year of service time for every player who stayed in majors for full season (and less for those who actually not - there's 107 days and such). That's great. Say I want extend season to 120 games. How many minimum days for 1 year should be set to get the same result (exactly 1 year for those who stayed for a season) under new season lenght?? There's all-star game with HR derby, and I generate schedule automatically, not manually. And, if it's crucial, there's tiebreaker games if it's tie (so, never happened yet). If I remember it right, once I change the number there is an pop-up option to recalculate service time for players - I plan to NOT recalculate once I change it. But, my guess if I change it and set "wrong" number (and get less or more than a year at season's end), changing it again WILL require recalculating and I'll mess with whole service times through all league history. |

Open up your schedule in notepad or another text editor and see how many days there are. If you want a service year to require them being up all season, you can set it to that number.
If you're using a game generated schedule you'd just need to export it first. Another option would be to backup your game, sim to the end of a season and find a player who was in the majors all season and see what their # of days served that season is. |

As far as I know it players can't get more than 1.000 ST units. If the yearly minimum is set below the days in a season they'll get the 1.000 when they reach that threshold. If it's more than that it seems they have to be on the roster the whole season.
So I suppose you need the number of days in the season including off days. Or probably any high number if it doesn't crash the game. The minimum is just there for the IRL convention to allocate 1.000 ST to players who are slightly below a full season. |
