Chemistry Points Question
Usually, a variant version of a card is worth more chemistry points than the regular card.
Why is my (65) Billy Wagner variant card worth 275 chemistry points on the 26 man roster but the same card, regular version, is worth 325 on the reserve roster? Shouldn't the variant be 325 and regular 275? |

This image is from Roster Chemistry Screen with the Variant Wagner.
This is from Reserve Chemistry Screen with the Regular Wagner card. |

IOW, before I bought the variant (65) Wagner I was getting 325 chemistry points on active roster with regular (65) Wagner. Now, I'm getting 275 with variant. IOW, I am getting 50 less chemistry points with variant on active roster than I would with the regular. Last edited by Socali; 08-16-2025 at 06:52 PM. Reason: add: (REGULAR) |

Did you happen to get a screenshot of when the regular Wagner was on the active roster? I feel that is important to this conversation, as that is currently missing. All you have is him on the reserve roster, but you're not showing what it was like with the regular Wagner on the active roster.

Ok, so I just checked that player on both Card Shop and Variant Marketplace. And it shows 275 for both. I think last year's Combinators got a chemistry boost.
Nevertheless, why it shows 325 on reserve seems odd. Which is why I raised the question. Not a big deal though. I am running a Red Sox Theme team for PT26 so I do pay attention to the chemistry. |

Seasons over, (no playoffs), so now I can move guys up and down. I do understand the chemistry is dynamic. Apparently, the reserve side is showing relationship points to the reserve(?) Hence, Wagner is showing 325 pts, both variant and regular, on reserve but when either are on active roster they drop to 275.
Seems feasible that reserve chemistry points shown would reflect effect if put on active. But then being dynamic how could the algorithm know what player is being sent down. Being a theme team, especially with not enough Red Sox ringers out yet, I don't even have a doable Red Sox catcher yet, I'm scrounging for any advantage I can and that is chemistry points. So, nothing to see here. (Ignore the fire, bombs and mayhem behind me.) ![]() |
