Historical Fictional Question.

Haven't played in a few versions, I'm trying to set up an alternate history scenario. Historical players, but on fictional teams. I can't find a way to make it work.

If I make a historical league I can't change the league structure.

If I make a fictional league I can't make it start with a draft of the historical players, it generates different ones.

For this approach:

"If I make a historical league I can't change the league structure."

In Commish mode you can turn off auto-evolution so the game doesn't consult the Teams.csv to change the teams back at the end of the year from whatever you go into Commish mode to modify the teams into. The Historical Wizard might look different to you too if it has been a few versions. Use default (not replay) as a mode if wanting recalc on for the players but if you want just the OOTP engine driving performance from a player's rookie potential, use "career" as the mode.

But overall in Commish mode, you can edit the historical game as you like (and as I said, keep it that way with auto-evolution off). Also, in the wizard make sure you have the draft on since importing to real teams won't work if you change out the teams.

Did you get your question answered? I have been playing with this quite a bit. It took a lot of trial and error and restarts to get things to my liking.

Make a lot of quick saves in the early going as you progress. Keeps you from having to start completely over if you are on step 40 and you realize you messed up something at step 5, etc.

I like my players to come in with all of their history but I don't want any of my fictional teams to have any history so I delete all of the historical teams completely and then create all new teams (and reset my league structure if I need to).

Good luck!
