Offers to multiple coaches

A GM in my online league made offers to multiple coaches and managers for the same job. During our sim, many of them accepted the offers.

What resulted is the game hired a manager or coach then fired them and replaced them with another manager or coach who accepted the offer.

And this put the team on the hook for the fired coaches' salaries.

The GM says they've always done this and never had this happen. I always thought you could only offer a job to one coach at a time. That if you offer a job to someone, that offer replaces the existing one.

Clearly, that's not how it worked in this case.

Is this a bug? If so, I'll submit it in the proper thread.

Does anyone know for sure how offers to coaches work?

I'm pretty sure he is on the hook for all those salaries and it's always been this way. If you sign anyone, player or coach, and then release them before their contract is up...you're on the hook for it

Just be sure he's not using it as a griefing mechanism. I had an owner in one of my leagues sign other teams coaches and release them like this all off-season with the intent of just messing with the other teams, they were booted.

I think this can also be done with IAFAs to "circumvent" the cap. Like, if you offer 5 or 6 players the max, and they all agree, you get them all and end up spending like 38m.

That's how it was in 23, anyway.

Once an offer is accepted, he needs to withdraw the rest of the offers for that job. The game does not realize the job was filled.

It should auto-withdraw the offers when one of them signs. We will investigate that to see why it's not happening.

Thanks, Matt. Had this happen to another GM as well.
