OOTP26 FIP is off

I asked this over in the Historical Section as it's something that stands out when playing historical replays where you can compare the In Game "Real Life" FIP with what's on BR, Fangraphs or even prior versions of the game. They seem like the people who would have noticed, whereas Fictional games don't have the easy comp.

The post got a fair number of views, but no answer or pointing to a prior thread if this was ever discussed before.

OOTP 26 - Historical & Fictional Simulations Section - Ootp 26 fip

So I'll try here.

FIP kind of is a stat at this point, like ERA. If OOTP decided to calculate ERA differently, like say using 8.5 IP rather than 9 IP as the basis, that really isn't "ERA" any more but instead oERA.

The other question asked in it was whether -FIP was calculated differently as those have moved from their prior numbers seen on Fangraphs or prior versions of OOTP relative to 100.

Answer would be helpful, even if it's to point to a thread where this was discussed in more details.

Thanks. My full post from there is below in for context if you want to answer here rather than over there.

So... just noticed this:

Mike Torrez
4.07 Fangraphs
4.07 BR
4.08 OOTP19 (Real 1+2+1 import)
4.53 OOTP26 (Neutralized 1+2+1 import)
4.53 OOTP26 (Real 1+2+1 import)

Paul Splittorff
3.73 Fangraphs
3.73 BR
3.77 OOTP19 (Real 1+2+1 import)
4.26 OOTP26 (Neutralized 1+2+1 import)
4.26 OOTP26 (Real 1+2+1 import)

Steve Carlton
3.15 Fangraphs
3.15 BR
3.16 OOTP19 (Real 1+2+1 import)
3.58 OOTP26 (Neutralized 1+2+1 import)
3.58 OOTP26 (Real 1+2+1 import)

Any example of a seasonal change:

1972 Carlton
1.97 Fangraphs
2.01 BR
1.98 OOTP19
2.74 OOTP26

These are pretty radical changes.

Perhaps something to try to draw FIP more in line with Runs Allowed rather than ERA?

Has the League FIP been adjusted as well, to make FIP- work? It was always useful to look at whether a pitcher was sub-100 or above 100 (i.e. League Average & park adjusted), and the degree to which.

Is there perhaps a useful FAQ that has this stuff? I didn't see FIP specifically in the announcement on the historical changes in OOTP25.

I update my post in the Historical Section with images of Carlton from a new, very simply Wizard Import that replicated the issue. The link to that thread is in the first post above.

This doesn't seem like a difficult question to answer. Perhaps it has been in the past, and someone can point me to it.
