How do you turn off the beards for the players in the 3d Parks game?

Game settings, facegen. On right side of page under other picture functions
click the check box for show beard settings. A little below that set the no beard percent to 100%.

Th3e thing Mat did had to do with face gen pics. I don't use facegen, I use actual pictures. I am talking about the AI players on the filed in the 3D ball parks. The all look like they have a beard or a heavy 5 o'clock

Yes. Because of the thing Matt did. What do you expect the faces of the little people running around to look like if facegen is turned off? I believe they will look like the generic uniform model as stated in the thread I linked to. Maybe I am misunderstanding the issue though. A screenshot would help someone understand what you are seeing.

Attached is a shot of batter & catcher. You can see it clearly on the batter and if you increase the size of the picture, you can see it on the catcher behind the mask. You can also see that the faces are not face gen, just plain/generic. Can't get a screen shot on the fielders up close but they all have the same beard/shadow.

That's the same face shown in post #1 of the link I sent. It is the generic default guy that is shown when you are on the uniform select screen as shown in my post (#2).

That face is now used for everybody in the 3D game now when facegens are off. That is what Matt did back in March per the thread I linked to.

I’d always assumed it was hardcoded versus being an actual .fg file that could be swapped out. Matt or Jorin might know. If it were made an accessible file people could change default uniform man’s face too. He’d still be out of shape but it would add some variety to be able to swap him out. Ideally, Matt undoes the band aid put on by disabling the custom faces when fictional facegens are set to none.

I have tried all kinds of things to get rid of the beards, repainting heads, importing heads from previous games, etc., etc. and nothing works.

It would be nice if there were options for historical games that players could choose from instead of someone at OOTP deciding what we can have, e.g., beards, hard caps or not, catchers gear, etc. But I guess that will not happen because the OOTP focus is on the cash cow, PT!

You do not know how wrong you are. Their focus has been pretty hard on the franchise side of things for at least the past 2 years. A lot of PT stuff happens AFTER the season starts but you had upgrades to graphics (Sorry you don't like them), upgrades to ballparks, upgrades to new features. Just because one tiny little detail is not to your liking because your generic players heads have a 5o;clock shadow, does not mean that the sole focus is on PT. Heck, the updates and change logs even show that more work is done in the base game than there is done to PT.

My issue is with the historic seasons and the lack of cosmetics you can choose from, some of which I have been asking about for years. Here are examples of no choice of cosmetics for historic seasons. The options would make player historic seasons more realistic and should be added to page where can modify colors & uniforms or another page like that for this stuff

1. Choice of beard or no beard for the players on the field.
2. Choice of regular ball cap or hard cap.
3. Choice of catcher's gear.

Just 3 simple things.

Regardless of what you say the focus is manly on PT because that is where the $$$ are.

As a test - without changing any of the settings beneath it (so it still pulls photos per your current settings), try replacing the "None" to something else. That change might get player faces in the 3D parks that are not the generic uniform guy. Also, go to the beard settings on the same page, show them, and turn them all to zero.

I think there is a combination of settings there that will address 3D settings without impacting the photos and won't generate facegens on the player pages. Sorry, I don't use photos so don't have the precise settings to achieve it.

I have done all that and more. Nothing works to remove the beard/shadow!

Chris, it would be more helpful if you said which particular file it was and how to export any .fg file into the applicable .fg3D file (assuming that's the one) to replace it and thus swap it out.

As an example, say i wanted him to look like this guy.

Like I posted before it's this folder: Out of the Park Baseball 26\data\ballparks\models\misc\player\models\heads

The ktx files are the textures. I just deleted the ktx files and replaced them with my png files.

You can probably edit the ktx files directly, but I could not open them with any tool I have.
Instead I used the webp pictures we had before from OOTP 24.

For more details you have to ask Jorin.
