AI trade proposal question (not piling on)

Usually, during the offseason or around the trade deadline, I get several trade proposals for the same player. For instance, this offseason, I got more than 5 proposals for my starting RF. He was not on the trading block. I was offered crap for him, and finally had to make him untouchable. Most of the time, this happens, it is for a mid-level prospect. Actually, it is very rare for the AI to propose a trade for a player in my majors.

Does anyone else see this? And do you know how the AI decides what player to go after, and why several teams go after him within 2-3?

Yes! Especially during certain points in the offseason. It is so aggravating to get multiple offers every day for the same player when I am just trying to quickly move through the offseason. I have done like you and made the player untouchable. Unfortunately then another player becomes the new player all teams are infatuated with and the multiple trade offers start happening again. I would just turn off notifications for trade offers in the manager settings but once in a blue moon I get an offer I like. I can remember a time when you would not get many trade offers unless you had a weakness at a position. Then you might get alot of offers to fill that need. That would be ok with me but just having most of the teams in the league fixate on one of my players who is not even on the trade block is aggravating.

I’ve noticed it more recently. Seems like the game has been offering trades more frequently in this edition, which is generally a good thing. It’s great when they go after someone expendable.

Sometimes, if the player is someone I would trade, but the offers aren't enough, I will shop that player and... crickets or even worse offers. including teams that made an offer in the first place.
