Cannot continue game in fictional league as "game cannot be played error" keeps showing up

I spent a long time making a custom league and I am managing a team in that league, when I try to proceed to the next day I get an error saying a game cannot be played because the roster is over the limit. I am not the manager of either of the teams playing and cannot edit their rosters, I have tried entering commissioner mode and manually fixing the team, however the same error occurs for other games.

I don't want to have to control every team in the league, why does the simulation mode not automatically control the rosters of the other teams, I have run computer manager on all teams multiple times and it doesn't change anything.
