Open GL Disabled
I created a game from two legacy games I first downloaded into OOTP 10 and have updated them into every version since. I played the 1st season (1950) through July, but then the game crashed. I got an error message that said the game couldn't load the stadium. When I tried to reload the stadium data, I received another message saying that Open GL was disabled. Rebooting the game and the computer have not worked. The Open GL problem has affected other games (lgs) as well. Does anyone have a suggestion?
I play on a MacBook Air (M2, 24 GB of memory) and recently upgraded to Mac OS Tahoe 26. I have played both OOTP 26 and 25 for a week without incident until this occurred. I'm attaching some documents and screenshots as examples. |

In Settings from the Main Screen, when the pop-up comes on there is a tab that has the Open GL setting check box. See if the crash auto-turned it off and turn it back on. Sometimes ChatGPT can isolate issues from the trace logs quickly. They are generally Greek to me.

Open GL?
Thanks for the quick response. I checked the settings after rebooting the Mac and got this. (Below.) But it doesn't work, and I still get the error messages during startup. It's odd, but in one game/lg, it's the stadium that's the problem, while in another, it's player animation. The players show up on the screen before the game starts, but after the game starts, the field is empty, no fielders, no batters, no baserunners. The game plays out, but everybody's invisible.

This might be an issue with the game not able to reach the data path. Depending on where the problem is, I would suggest double-checking in the settings popup -> expert and troubleshooting tabs, and making sure that the data folder, as well as all those links to open the saved games folder and so on are correct. Macs especially can silo games, so if you copied the save potentially, it might be trying to access an invalid path.
The next option would be to check in the league settings/database tab, and on that page you should see a bunch of paths to data and ballpark folders. Again, you want to make sure those line up with your save game. You may need to re-install the game in case the files have gone missing somehow, that could be another option to try to resolve the issue. |
