Canadian Baseball Confederation - fictional mod pack

The year is 2067. Canada is celebrating its bicentennial. And years after the Blue Jays fled south to the States, baseball is returning to the nation in a big way.

Remember how I put together the JPBO over a holiday break in 2023? I give you this holiday's labours. The Canadian Baseball Confederation is a 20-team fictional league split in two unequal subleagues - the Eastern has 12 teams, the Western has 8.
I'm planning on streaming this league in OOTP 27, but I didn't want to wait to share the results.

I'll post more on each team later - for now, you can get the entire mod here.

What's Done So Far
  • 20 team identities, with logos (attached to this post as well), pants, jerseys, caps, and socks

What's to Come
  • League template for OOTP 27
  • League quickstart for OOTP 27 set in 2067

Love this tehsuigi! But why the unequal divisions? I see you did this with the Jr. JPBO.

For Jr JPBO, it's to mirror the real [LEAGUE REDACTED] farm system that up until two years ago had subleagues of 5 and 7 teams.

Here it's because there's such a HUGE gap between the Eastern and Western teams, and a lot of larger cities are in that Quebec-to-Windsor corridor.

It also means the schedule for the league will focus on divisional play to minimize travel requirements. Also thinking division leaders plus one wild card from the East make the playoffs.

Canada is a bit weird in that a lot of the cities above a certain population are in Ontario. And then when you add in Quebec and the Maritimes, you've got a lot of teams in the east.

I can't remember exactly how I used to structure my Canadian leagues and, while I don't think I did what tehsuigi has, I'm not too surprised by it. You could drop Niagara, Windsor, Oshawa, Mississauga if you really wanted an equal west and east. Or you could add some cities any maybe go with 3 conferences.

I kind of like it. It gives the league a bit of personality not being even.

Calgary Barons
Calgary's in the midst of demolishing their existing ballpark, but hopefully they can build something new for the Barons by 2067. Team is inspired by the oil companies mostly headquartered in the city, with the green colour taken straight from the $20 bill. Going with a buttloness logo-and-name front gives it a distinct 80s vibe.

Edmonton Greats
The circular logo is taken from the Hanwha Eagles, and you'll notice a 9 and 7 hidden behind the g and t in the wordmark. The name and colour schemes are homages to both Gretzky and McDavid, who by 2067 must be equally legendary in the City of Champions. Although I've visited Edmonton many times for work, I never did get to see a game in their ballpark.

Halifax Shipwrights
Given how much weight JD Irving has in the Atlantic provinces, especially Halifax, I almost considered making them a jersey sponsor for this club. Also considered the Ice Breakers or Privateers as a team name (in honour of Elcid Barrett and the broken man on a Halifax pier). Team colours are lifted from the Halifax city flag.

Hamilton Hammers
This is a straight lift of the Pohang Hammers identity that michaeldanger19 did for his True 9 Korea league. I deviated from his set in terms of the uniforms, going with a yellow cap at home to imply a hard hat from one of Hamilton's many steel mills.

Kelowna Grizzlies
This one was the last set I did and took the longest to assemble. Also turns out there was a previous minor league team with the same name in Kelowna, but I'm allowing myself the reuse given how little I can actually find on the club. The primary colour is grizzly bear brown, secondary is from the Kelowna coat of arms, and the cap logo is for the Kelowna Mens Baseball League.

London Doctors
Can't do Knights for the hockey team, can't do anything royal because I've reserved that for Regina...but London Ontario is famous for his healthcare, research, and post-secondary education markets. Thus, the Doctors! The ballpark will be pushing 190 years old in 2067, but it still looks good.

Mississauga Hurricanes
Named for the famously long-serving mayor of Mississauga, "Hurricane" Hazel McCallion. There's a girls hockey league who already uses the name, so I pinched an unused logo from a design competition they did.

Montreal Maroons
I tried my level best to stay away from existing or defunct pro team names, but this one I couldn't resist. The Maroons were the NHL team for Anglophone Montreal, with les Canadiens representing the Francophone majority. The Maroons did win a couple Stanley Cups before becoming defunct in the 1930s.
Sidebar: this project was germinated as an NHL-to-OOTP rebrand, which I abandoned because I wanted to do more original stuff.

Niagara Daredevils
The Niagara region is represented in the IBL/CBL by the Welland Jackfish, but I still felt like the "barrel over the falls" with the right team identity here. Note the use of safety orange as the primary colour. The wordmarks are lifted from a book with the exact team name as the title.

Oshawa Hot Rods
Durham Region needed a team and the home of Canada's GM plants made the most sense, also inspiring the team name.

Ottawa Colonels
Named after Colonel John By, for whom Ottawa's previous name of Bytown and current neighbourhood of Byward Market are named for. Tried to do some epaulettes kinda thing with the shoulders. Colours and logo actually come from a Canada Post stamp, while the number font is from the Senators. Long name for the ballpark, but you can always rebrand it for 2067.

Quebec Voyageurs
Lifted wholesale from WideRight's CFL expansion identity on the SportsLogos.net forum. Did some slight tweaks to the logo for the cap, but that's about it. Jersey font is from the Philadelphia Eagles as per WideRight's suggestion.

Regina Sovereigns
The team I'll be running as my stream save in OOTP 27! The R is straight from Elizabeth II's royal cypher, as is the Crown of Canada in the main logo. The side panels on the away jersey are meant to imply a royal robe.

Saskatoon Rebels
Named for Louis Riel and his role in the North-West Rebellion of Canada's early days, and as the counterpoint to the loyalist Sovereigns in the other Saskatchewan city. Colours are from an illustration of a military uniform from that time, and the North-West crest is on the sleeve. Was trying to do a flannel shirt for the road, not sure I landed it. Ballpark is here.

Toronto Saints
I've had this team identity for over a decade in my old fantasy hockey keeper league, and I knew I had to bring it into this. Named for both Toronto's protestant past and the four "saint" stations on the subway - Clair, George, Patrick, and Andrew. The primary logo is even hand-drawn by me!

Tri-City Musketeers
The three cities being Kitchener, Waterloo, and Cambridge. The logo is from the Sioux City Musketeers, with the previous geography replaced. The 3-sword logo takes the place of a city name on the road uniform, which combines with the undershirt and vest to give the look of a proper Musketeer uniform. Cap logo is from the Minnesota Twins.
