You know the problem I have with this clip? Why do they have 2 female refs in a game? It is hard enough keeping a bunch of super-athletic testosterone infused y-chromosomes under control. How are 2 women going to keep the peace if things get out of hand?

As if two little ref-sized guys would do any better. If the players aren't going to respect the officials, they need a nice, long suspension to learn how.

Some of those little guys are actually former players themselves. And I feel they are setting up for some bad optics when a pair of bulls square off & these ladies get caught in the middle. We already have enough racists on social media looking for every opportunity to showcase the association in a bad light. They're asking for some bad future publicity. And a player/team getting an excessive penalty as a result.

That's not sexism. That's being shrewd, pragmatic & practical.

And in no way did I imply zero NBA fights would get the KKK to see the error of their ways. All I'm saying is why provide fuel to a smoldering fire? Being progressive shouldn't be done at the expense of common sense. If an incident occurs, it could actually do damage to the advances female refs have made. Pushing for equality doesn't require turning a blind eye to the obvious differences between the genders.

Pushing for equality is not saying we can never have multiple women reffing at the same time because the players might get rowdy. You say some of the men are former players as if the women aren't. If an incident occurs, it's not going to matter who the ref is. None of them are physically stopping a 7 foot, 280 pound guy in his 20s from doing whatever he wants.

This is sadly why NBA players flop. Refs don't see anything unless the contact is exaggerated. Wemby has his jersey half taken off and the refs don't blow the whistle until he "falls" w/arms flailing. And the defender has the nerve to look puzzled.
