Custom View in Reports - Crash fixed?

I've sent this in in past versions of the game but the same bug is present year after year and has occurred on different gaming rigs

When I pull up any list of players (my roster, list of FA, etc) and customize the view of that report (including drag and drop the order of columns), my game crashes maybe 7 times out of 10.

Has this been addressed?

Sounds like some really lousy luck. I've customized dozens of views every year since v8 without ever crashing while doing so.

I had an epic mountain of problems with advancing to the offseason in 23 (i think), it was basically a toss-up if it would crash. Lots of swear words involved after forgetting to save.

I'm on PC and like snepp have never had a crash while making or using views including dragging, dropping, and rearranging columns often. At last count I believe I have around 50 of them.

I'm sure you've tried a lot of things trying to get the game to work, has to be very frustrating. Leaving only speculations that you may have already thought of.

Some app runs in the background on your rig(s) that we don't use causing a conflict?
Is OOTP whitelisted in your antivirus? On a version a long time ago this was an issue for me. But it was while trying to build html pages/reports. Not sure it could/would every have an affect on pages where you build views?

How any columns do you get up to on that fancy ultra-wide you use? I imagine some of those views must be absolutely loaded to the gills.

It's fairly easy to get 50. Sometimes I get some scrunching of the column headers. This can sometimes be "fixed" by how columns are arranged. Ie if columns are arranged A-B data may be scrunched. But if they are arranged B-A the data fits. So then I drag & drop to rearrange until I get it as best as I can. It would be a lot easier if we could customize column widths.

It is a lot of info and at times almost too much. I try to organize in blocks/sections to keep like things together and then my eye just gravitates to the area I am interested in.

Here's a screen of my pitching staff. I don't have a screen from v26 so this is from v25, but is pretty much what my 26 screen looks like. Having the width means being able to build a lot of screens that contain both ratings and stats. While the screenshot shows my default pitching screen under that tab I also have views built that contain stats, skills vs both right and left handed batters along with things like velocity, stamina, hold, etc. etc. etc. I have the same type of setups for the batters screen.

This is one small thing that I miss from FM, the ability to add the column line breaks for "grouping" things in views. That tiny little line is amazing for being able to quickly and easily focus your vision into a small area within a sea of data.

That view is amazing though, makes me a little jealous. I keep wanting to try the ultrawide experience, but I do so much (and have spent so many years) working within a specific multiple monitor setup I just can't bring myself to disrupt my aging habits yet.

Ultra wides are getting a lot cheaper. I think I've seen them (good brands like LG IIRC. Mine is a Dell) in Costco for less than $300. Of course it's always easy spending someone else's money. I've had mine for around 4 years and got it for a reasonable $370 on Amazon Christmas sale IIRC. I've enjoyed it so much if I could go back I'd buy it sooner even at $500+. Lord knows I spent enough upgrading as monitors and resolutions got bigger and better. If I took the money from the two monitors I upgraded to before going UW and added it to the $370 I spent on mine I could have bought the UW sooner at around $800 and come out the same.

Haven't played FM since probably 2022, just not enough time to devote to it.
But yes column breaks would be awesome in OOTP. Without those in OOTP in some views I will use a random stat/skill, or anything that will present a thin column, that is colored to breakup sections of stats that are in white. So you may see something like the bunt rating breaking up a ratings block from stats block. You do what you have to do.

I've tried all sorts of things. There really isn't a whole lot on the interwebs about my particular issue but its happened on every version of the game since I started playing in 2019. Also, same issue occurs on three different PCs over those years. If I move just one column then hit OK, it crashes. But it isn't consistent. No antivirus running. I try to keep most programs closed when I'm not using it and check what's running often. Unless its something with Steam, I've got no idea.
