OOTP5 Demo problem
Believe I inadvertently posted this is the wrong forum earlier, so I'll post here as well.
Hey Gang, First post here. Looking forward to purchasing OOTP5 and ruining my life and wasting huge amounts of very precious free time . Downloaded the demo and anxiously tried to run but am getting this fatal error message: OTP5 caused an invalid page fault in module at 0000:00000001. Registers: EAX=00000824 CS=015f EIP=00000001 EFLGS=00010202 EBX=00000000 SS=0167 ESP=00e3fa58 EBP=00e3fca4 ECX=00e3fe28 DS=0167 ESI=00e3fcc4 FS=61c7 EDX=8000a1f8 ES=0167 EDI=00e3e0aa GS=0000 Bytes at CS:EIP: 01 00 00 00 04 70 00 16 00 8a 05 65 04 70 00 65 Stack dump: 00419726 00000000 00b27518 00a4c708 00000000 0d680003 16bf0003 178709e6 8a8c0000 0000622f 3dcc0047 00000003 00000001 008c0824 00000000 00010001 I've wasted about 7 of my 10 trial runs on this damn thing! Help! I want to buy the product but must try it out first. Is this bug already known and is there a patch available? I'm not the most computer literate Rotogeek but think I can figger it out with a little coaching.....and a good patch. Thanks! |

Sounds like you don't have atleast 1direct X 8.1b or higher installed on your system, download it from http://www.microsoft.com and try again.

Steve,
Thanks for the reply. Went to Microsoft and found these two dowloads. Should I use the 9.0 if my system will support it? I'm running Windows 98 plus on a older Toshiba Portege 7020 CT. I think it's a Pentium 2, but not sure how to check. DirectX 9.0a End-User Runtime DirectX 8.0a for Windows 95, 98, and Me |

Thought so...but like I said, I'm a baseball nerd, but unfortunately not a computer nerd!
