HOF Monitor Quirk
I've noticed a small inconsistency between your HOF Monitor calculation and mine. According to Bill James definition, players should extra points thusly:
30 points for 2100 games at 2B or SS, or 15 for 1,800 games. 15 points for 2,000 games at 3B. An additional 15 points if the player has more than 2,500 games played at 2B, SS, or 3B. Award 15 points if the player's batting average is over .275 and they have 1,500 or more games as a 2B, SS or C. Comparing my calculations to the game's, it seems like these points are only being awarded if the thresholds are met at a single position. That is, if a player played 1500 games at 2B and 1200 at SS, they get no points. This is fine if you consider them as separate tallies but my code considers them combined. Can you confirm this? This has only come up within one player in 80 seasons so it's a unique stat niche but one that I've just spent an hour tracking down. (I'm not sure which is the correct definition since, AFAICT, there is literally no player in MLB history who straddles the bonus points this way.) |

Update
Finding a lot of big differences, actually, both in the fictional league and in an MLB league. Is there anywhere where the OOTP version of Hall of Fame Monitor is explicitly spelled out or is it a secret?
