Playing in 1871 random debut but without 1871 specs?

Hi everyone.

I loke the idea of starting a random debut historical league in 1865 or 1871 but what 16 teams, 5 man rotations, 5 man bullpen, 25 man rosters.

But whenever I start a random debut in 1871 it won't let ne change the specs, even when I click in another season - say 1978 - for the stats and specifications.

Anyone know how I can play in calendar year 1871 or earlier with a random debut historical league, but have the statistics context and strategy environment I want?

Does the 1978 stat environment not take in the year you set it or is it reverting to 1872 come next year due to auto-evolution being on? You can also make a custom league so are a stepped removed from the historical elements as a default. You can alternatively do RD in a fictional 1871 world of your creation (with 1978 league environment), I think.

Thanks. The stats environment works fine. But it refuses to let me change tge roster limit from 15 or allow more than 1 reliever . But I'll try the two workarounds you suggested.
