OOTP 27 Patch: 27.2.60 (HOTFIX)

UPDATE: We have released a hotfix for this build, which fixes the crash going to customize in Perfect Team. This has been released as 27.2.60. If you are on Steam it should update automatically, Fastspring users should download and update manually. The links below have been updated.

We're officially releasing the next patch, 27.2.59. We're moving into a good place with the game with this update. Please do continue to give feedback and report any issues.

• Slightly adjusted injury rating balance, so less players are wrecked over time
• Slightly toned down potential ratings for players in the draft (and adjusted scouting so scouts are less excessively optimistic in projections)
• PT: Fix some instances of saved template rosters being duplicated
• PT: Added background to the tournament caps and slots text
• PT: Added hover text with the four categories for team score
• PT: Fixed slots restrictions not sticking to template rosters on the server
• PT: Improved recolor on tournaments/roster editor
• PT: Fixed missions page cards not displaying, pack rewards ordering
• PT: Fixed crashes watching replays on hover
• PT: Changed order of the tournaments/draft in the main menu

Important info for online leagues: This version is NOT compatible between versions. The commissioner of the league must import all exports from teams while on the previous version, and then can save/sim, at which point all league members MUST update to the new version.

Update Info for our webstore customers: To apply the update, simply download the setup file and install it over your current installation. There is no need to uninstall or unlicense your current copy! However, you should quit the game before attempting to install the update. Please note that you may need to delete or unload previous installers of the game after download. Please be sure that after updating you see the correct version of your game. For Steam users, your game should update automatically when launched.

edit: Running shaky for me. Relatedly, 'Live Updates' always fail despite clearing the database folder. Wonder if this is just related to today somehow.

Can I say too that the one HUGE improvement is the minor league stats? Far too often the minor league team stats would be way off, and an ace would have an ERA+ of 120 with a 3.9 ERA. Now I feel like its a little more close to normal.

It is my understanding that that this is a MS narrator issue. I have notified MS but no response. There was a MS update to narrator in February which is probably the reason because Microsoft know better what we need. Any chance you can fix this or develop your own, or a 3rd party TTS voice system and get Microsoft out of the game?

What is tts_pronunciation.txt? Does this not working mean you aren't getting TTS play by play?

FWIW I'm on Win 11 and TTS works fine for me, and has since v27 released. Windows, no matter what version, has worked with every version of OOTP I have played.

The _pronunciation.txt is basically a file that tells the TTS how to pronounce names. It was done by pstrickert and work well. It does not read the pronunciation.txt file now like it used to. had modified to have a description for every batting average and it worked fine, i.e. no more his batting average is " dot three hundred". I it I tested it to see if it was working and it is not. Also, you can hear the mispronounce name occasionally which means i is not reading that file.

Having an issue on mac where the percentile rankings section is too small, the bars basically don't exist. It still functions kind of, I can see the numbers, I just really miss looking at the bars. I couldn't figure out a way to make it bigger again on the immediate player screen, if there is a way I would love to know. Thanks!

I play on a Mac. What screen size do you have? A 13-inch (13.6-inch) MacBook Air or something else?

I've played OOTP on various different Macs. This year I've switched to playing exclusively on a laptop because of the freedom it offers. Moving from a large external monitor to 13.6 inches meant I had to change quite a lot. For example, all custom views + creating more custom views to compensate. I've always had a larger Macbook Pro in the past, but now I just have a Macbook Air as my portable option.
If you haven't already, you can go to system settings -> search for "Displays" -> there you can select "More Space" which creates a higher resolution.
You can also play the game in windowed mode but click the green circle so it fills the whole screen - it makes a big difference.
Before I found the right settings, I was very doubtful about whether I could play OOTP on 13.6 inches, but it works perfectly fine.

Just a few suggestions, hope it helps.

Why aren't the 40-man-rosters complete?

With this patch, on a Mac, whenever I go to customize my team, trying to join the theme league, the game crashes. Has happened about 10 times in a row now and seems to only happen when I enter the customization screen.

Can’t customize Perfect Team after this patch. Windows 11. Even after uninstalling and reinstalling. After reinstalling I had to log out and log back in to customize Perfect Team. I closed out the game. Reopened it later and could not customize Perfect Team Perfect Team even after logging out and back in again.

40 man rosters will never be the same b/c no matter what the AI is going to take a player off when you start the game. I.E Player A in the game sucks more than OOTP's ratings for Player B and puts Player B on the 40 man. When in reality Player A is on the 40 man.

Im having an issue with a 14 inch mac with a live start. The OSA/Scout is overlapping with the editor on a player page on the main screens. It is also overlapping when I click on a player page during a game. Here are the pics.

Still can't import pic file (see profile pic) to replace manager Face Gen. Still issues with runners largely going station-to-station, with no additional base advancement (VERY limited 1st to third, 2nd to home on singles to outfield, 1st to home on doubles, even with two outs).
