You gotta love Deadball!

Early Gold tourney, played in 1920 in a ballpark that is very slightly more hitter friendly than Heinsohn. First game in the 3rd round goes 11 innings with Hoss Radbourn throwing a complete game for both teams. Final score 2-1, visiting Hoss throws 143 pitches for the win, home team Hoss throws 178 pitches and gets the L. I'm sure both will be ready to go on the 4th day from now.

I try to set-and-forget my Perfect Team league play, but if I see a matchup where we are both using the same card as starter, and I lose, I am sending that guy to the reserves for 14 days minimum. Boy needs to get right with himself.

I have not mastered the nuances of deadball in Perfect Team, but I love seeing these ironmen battle it out.

In LATE SILVER, crappy HRA pitchers shine because HRs are scarce.

Those long balls drop more often into deep outfield, triggering a lot of triples but many long outs.
