I was playing last night and went to sim a month. It simmed the first game maybe two then seemed to stop. After a while I checked and the CPU was loaded at 99% (by ootp4.exe).
Nothing happened after quite some time. OOTP didn't repaint its window and wasn't responsive to clicks. Eventually I killed the process. Now I can restart and open the league. It seems to be fine until I try and play a game. That crashes the process. Everything seems fine if I use another league file so I guess it's just those league files that are hosed. I hope it's only a coincidence that the dead league uses Rolen's rosters. This is with OOTP4a on Dell Inspiron 4000 [384Mb RAM, 700MHz PIII, Win2KSP2, 1.5Gb free space, ATI Rage Mobile 128 with 8MB VRAM]. OOTP3 ran without ever crashing on this machine. Help? Matt |

Check the line-ups in the league that crashes, I had a similar problem and found there was a player in a slot but he hadn't been allocated a position to play at. Quickest way to check will be to change all teams to cpu and then try to sim.

Is OOTP4 still generating improper lineup crashes? I tried to crash the game with wacky lineups and could not do it, that's dissapointing if that is back
. Try a league reset if the crash is still there.

I don't know about OOTP4, it was certainly a problem in OOTP3. Just wondered if it may have been a cause.

I've reloaded the league file and checked the line ups. I don't have an empty position in any of them...
The crash occurs every time I try to play a game, at the point where it displays the "Calculating league leaders" dialog. I'll try resetting the league. What does that do exactly? [RTFM'ing now] |

Update:
If I use the standard career roster (that comes with OOTP4) I can sim an entire season no problem. If I use Rolen's roster it hangs sooner or later, mostly sooner. The steps I followed were: 1) Load league 2) Reset league 3) Set all teams to CPU 4) Sim season I know its hung now because I am using task manager to monitor I/O reads & writes. During normal simming these show a healthy upward trend. At the moment they are all static. Its dead. I'm going to try unpacking the roster again in case I've done something really evil to it...
