My first true OOTP related crashes!
FYI--184 MB RAM & 52% free system resources. Both crashes were "OOPT4.exe has caused an illegal operation error" and sent me back to the desktop. Crash #1 In Spring Training, while adjusting a players points allotted downward (hitting minus), the game crashed. I had previously hit "Ask Coaching Staff" and had made some of my own adjustments. Also, I had adjusted several other computer-controlled teams similarly prior to the team that caused the crash. The player I was adjusting when the game crashed was a 2B, and I had just lowered his defense training when the game crashed. Crash #2: I decided to reboot, started OOTP4 and Spring Training again, manually adjusted relievers to convert to starters on a few computer-contolled teams, lowered velocity training on a pitcher, and the game crashed again. Coincidentally, the pitcher had the same last name and first initial of another pitcher, and the game switched their positions in the Spring Training roster after I lowered the pitchers stuff training. The same thing happened in Crash #1, but there was no crash after the two pitchers switched spots in the roster order. I did not "Ask Coaching Staff" for any of the teams, and had only adjusted a couple of pitchers on maybe 7 or 8 teams. The only things in common between the two crashes were: 1) Same type of crash 2) Spring Training 3) Computer controlled team 4) Lowered (hit "minus") on a training category. Any help is appreciated, and as a workaround, I'm going to save Spring Data after each team I adjust by leaving Spring Training.

Just to let you know in spring training when you select "run spring training" it automatically runs the "ask coach" feature for computer owned teams. Well I just went in and lower every training area to zero for a position player and a MR and nothing happened.

Similar crashes happened three more times, but two were when I clicked Learn New Role. No other information to add, but I did get through Spring Training eventually by leaving and going back to it frequently.

mtw - I generally hate support people suggesting that I reinstall a game BUT in OOTP3 I had serious crash issues that might have been related to my mouse (spring training screen crash for me too, also clicking on injured players). The only way I could get it back and running with no crashes was to unlicense, back up my leagues, remove OOTP3, and reinstall. No idea what caused it but that cured the issue for me. I am not suggesting this to be lazy, I know a reinstall is a PITA but it may work - good luck.
