Post installing OOTP3 on a laptop

Is there any way at all to install a functioning version of this game on my laptop. I do not want to connect my laptop to the internet for validation. I do not care if they subtract one of my 3 licenses, I just want to be able to play this on my laptop also. Any help/information with this matter is greatly appreciated!!

You can run it on a lappy not connected to the net, but you need the net connection for the eLicense validation. There might be a workaround if you contact the eLicense folks.

You can manually liscence without being on the internet, but you'll need to call Via Tech to find out how exactly to do it. They should be able to walk you through the process.

As Killebrew said you only need to be connected to the internet once, for eliscence validation.. after that you can run it anywhere you want regardless of whether or not you are online.

I have the same question too. My main machine is connected through a network card with a cable modem and my second machine isn't. There isn't any way that I can connect to licence my second machine. If this is resolved please post here.

Call Via Tech they'll tell you what to do (I think you hit a button combination to bring up the menu and then type in your code)... the number is on the help page of this site.

Via Tech can tell you exactly what you need to do.

ViaTech's response was very quick (next day). Had the game up and running very quickly on my second machine. However, the video quality on my second machine really sucks... I can't read any of the print even with 3D turned off. Beautiful quality on my main machine though. Old machine is 333mhz K6-2, 156MB RAM, but an analog monitor. The processor supports 3D now technology, but the video quality makes it unplayable. Not complaining about OOTP though. I just want to be able to fulfill my addiction when my kids are on my other machine!
