If Grigsby knows about baseball they should hire him to fix OOTP.

Thats true.
The parks that come with the game look great however there are case were the modded ones look better.
For me the Yankee stadium that comes with the game looks too bland or unrealistic.
Too many ootp signs..
The one you guys made has 1 ootp sign among many other realistic billboard ads.
Plus what really made it feel more alive for me is the player on the jumbotron.
A team logo just seems seems generic.
an player's picture and stats makes it seem like you are at the ballpark.

I guess I can see that. I just can’t seem to justify spending hours on a model just so the ads and scoreboard pictures were different. I think it would probably be easier to modify the images on the existing model

Oh i agree that if there are things you can use from the original parks or even ones you already created then why not use it.
No need to start completely over if you don't have to.

Is what I'm trying to do possible? I want to put a new park in the game, but it won't be used until a future date. However, I know that I will forget about it when the time comes. Does a park have to be assigned to a team in order to make it available for a specific range of years?

In a historical game, the game looks to Teams.csv file to get the name for certain things but really, the historical ballparks are fed into the game via the era_ballparks.txt in the /database folder. So, if you wanted the Red Sox to load some park in Toyko or a fictional one in 1964, that's where you'd make the change so the game would read it automatically when you got to that year. I'm not sure if you are talking about a historical game though. If not, you have to wait until that year and make the change. It's all manual changes unless it is a historical game that is auto-expanding and so reading the files that tell it what to do when.

It's a historical park for a historical year that isn't already set up to be used. However, when I looked at that era_ballparks.txt file before, I think I recall a lot of numbers in there, but I have no idea what those should be to create a new record. I see the column headers, but where would I get the data? I'm assuming they are probably somehow part of the .prk file. I guess I could always try to remember when the time comes to import that park, but I truly don't trust myself to remember what I'm supposed to do the rest of today.

Could be stupid question

Not the most Computer Savvy guy, but is there a way to "permanently" install these? Using historic Stadiums and I have been needing to install new every season of the replay.

Baby Ruth, the very last column of the era_ballaprks file has the folder name of the ballpark model that will load for that team in that given season. Those ballpark models need to be in the ballparks>models directory with all of the other ballparks. Column F is the name of the stadium that OOTP will use in any text in the game, like for the box scores, but this name does not need to match the model folder name in the last column.

tem316, do you have the Steam version of the game? If so, you can just subscribe to the historical ballparks mod in the Steam Workshop, then open OOTP25 and go to the Workshop from within the game then download it, then install it, and it is all set up so that all of the naming conventions match the era ballparks file so that everything loads each season.

That makes sense, but where do I get the values for all of the other columns? Do I have to temporarily load the park, ahistorically, into the game to get that data and then manually edit the year and team columns in the file so that it shows up in the future?

A lot of the data is just stuff like fence distances, attendance for that year, etc. The ballpark factors materially matter though. The modded era_ballparks.txt file silvam's mod ships with aligns the historical so, as I understand it, it's just a particular variance you are seeking... What specific park in what specific years are you trying to align to what team? If the park/team/year is in there, some of this is just swapping out and cobbling together info already in there.

I've never been able to get these modded stadia to auto-load.

People keep saying what should happen but even when I follow the various instructions they just don't upload and/or roll over automatically. The parks themselves seem to but not the 3D models.

I suspect it is either a file convention issue with mac or me having missed a step or two. But I have the mod folder in the ballpark>models directory and still have to do it all manually each season.

Twins34 - any chance of one of your helpful videos on this topic in the near future?

Basically the ballpark folder in the ballparks>models sub folder in the ootp25 directory needs to be named exactly the same as the what is in the era_ballparks file.

The Steam Workshop mod of the ballparks is already set up for everything to match and to download into the appropriate sub folders in OOTP.

It's a Comiskey Park for 1976-1980 that I downloaded (maybe from this thread, I'm not sure). I was trying to add it to the file so it would kick in in 1976, but I was intimidated by all the values in the individual park lines in the file.

You need to input the field dimension yourself on alot of non-OOTP parks. Dimensions can be found here: https://www.seamheads.com/ballparks/...p?parkID=CHI10
